Sweet the rains new fall, On the wet garden...

It is a misty morning after a good nights rain. I am walking Lucy and inspecting my garden. There is a scent of wood smoke in the air from the cottage chimney. Piril is also hanging around, testing the uncovered boxes for their toilet capabilities.

Piril in the garden

Yesterday, in the nick of time so to speak I planted 2 of the boxes. In the nearer one salad vegetables: lettuce, arugola, spinach, chard, radishes and spring onion. In the further box 3 rows of carrots alternating with 3 rows of red onions. I always companion plant onions and carrots as they keep the keep the pests off each other. Onions repel the carrot fly, while carrots repel the onion fly!
